Morning Presentation:
Bequest Programs: 10 Key Ingredients

Speaker: Lynn Malzone Ierardi, J.D., Director of Gift Planning, Office of Gift Planning, University of Pennsylvania

Whether you are creating a gift planning program from scratch, heating up the leftovers of a predecessor, or simply hoping to spice things up a bit, this session will offer a fresh look at the key ingredients for a successful bequest program. The discussion will also include beneficiary designations, which have become just as (if not more) important. While there is no single recipe that appeals to every taste, you will leave with key ingredients that will allow you to craft a bequest program that works well for your organization .

Luncheon Presentation:
What a Great Hat!

Speaker: Lynn Malzone Ierardi, J.D., Director of Gift Planning, Office of Gift Planning, University of Pennsylvania

Is gift planning a new hat for you? Are you a fundraiser that wears several hats (annual gifts, major gifts, events, gift planning…)? Perhaps you are a seasoned professional shifting hats (strategies) to respond to changing demographics or new tax laws. This session will explore how to wear the gift planning hat when it's new to you or it's not the only one you wear, including a review of how to start a planned giving program and how to encourage collaboration and integrate a program with your existing strategies. You will leave the session with easy to implement ideas - and you will look great in that Gift Planning Hat !
